Dr Andrew Lees joined Tensar in 2016 as Senior Application Technology Manager for Tensar International with responsibility for advanced design and analysis methods including finite element analysis (FEA). He continues to run the successful geotechnical consultancy Geofem specialising in FEA and satellite analysis. 
He graduated in Civil Engineering at the University of Southampton in 1996, where he also obtained a PhD in the fields of centrifuge modelling and FEA of soil-structure interaction in 2000. Since then he has worked in both the academic and professional sectors of geotechnical engineering.
After some early experience of Permanent Way engineering during a gap year prior to his degree studies (he was a British Rail sponsored student), he is pleased to be back involved in railway engineering again!
