Dr. Chen-Yu Lin is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Rail Transportation and Engineering Center (RailTEC) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), conducting and managing research and industry-sponsored projects on railroad safety and risk analysis. His research interests and experience includes quantitative risk assessment, accident analysis, shared-use rail corridors, passenger rail safety, and transportation network analysis. Dr. Lin's 8 years of experience includes research on rail hazmat route optimization, hazmat release risk assessment, hazmat traffic analysis, railroad train accident causal analysis, tank car safety performance, shared-use rail corridor risk analysis, adjacent track accident risk analysis, and casualty estimation. Dr. Lin received his Master and Ph.D. degrees at UIUC and Bachelor degree at National Taiwan University.
