Gray Chandler Graduated Virginia Military Institute in Civil Engineering 1970
Started with Seaboard Coastline Railroad, a predecessor of CSX Transportation, in Florence, SC in the Division Engineer’s office.
1971 US Army at Ft Knox, KY for two years, then back to Florence.
1979, he was transferred to Jacksonville, Fl. into the Design & Construction. 1999 Appointed to head up and manage Conrail Integration Projects. During this time, handled all the design review for the B&O Capacity Project from Greenwich, OH to Chicago, IL, which was designed and built in nineteen (19) months.
Retired from CSX as manager in the Transportation Projects.
At the present time, he is and consulting on railroad engineering projects. Member of AREMA since 1970, active on Committee 24- Education and Training, and a recent board member.
Assisted in the publication of the Practical Guide to Railway Engineering.
