Howard Swanson is a Structural Engineer and Rail Practice Senior Project Manager at Hardesty & Hanover where he joined the firm after a 32-year career with Norfolk Southern, most recently as Assistant Chief Engineer, Bridges and Structures. He is a member of AREMA’s Committees 9 (Seismic Design) and 15 (Steel Bridges); past Vice President and past Director of AREMA’s Structures Functional Group; and past Chairman of Committee 9. Howard received his BS in Civil Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from Emory University. Howard is licensed as a Structural Engineer in Illinois and Professional Engineer in multiple states. He lives in Atlanta.
