Studied Mechanical Engineering at the Queen's University Belfast, now living in London. Joined Network Rail via their engineering graduate scheme in 2007 focussed on Track Engineering, now a Senior Engineer in Technical Authority. Chartered with Institution of Mechanical Engineers in 2016, won the Permanent Way Institution's Gold Award for best paper following work studying the relationship between climate and track quality in 2017. Currently focussed on improving the quality of data used to increase freight capacity and maintain clearances to passenger trains on the UK network; the first modern railway in the world, and the one of the most challenging.
