James is a Project Manager with TranSystems in Kansas City, MO, where he began working on railroad infrastructure projects 18 years ago.  He has managed the design and construction of numerous projects including hundreds of miles of line expansion, intermodal and automotive facilities, corridors, grade separations, and other industrial and terminal projects.  Prior to that, he was a geotechnical engineer for three years with Intertek (formerly PSI).  He holds a BS in Geological Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly University of Missouri-Rolla).  James is a member of Subcommittee 1 of AREMA Committee 1.
