Jose R Mediavilla is a 34 year veteran of the railway industry as a designer of elastic fasteners and direct fixation systems for both, freight and transit applications, for which he is the owner of multiple product & design patents.   A member of AREMA since “A.R.E.A” days, he is a member of Committee 30 (Ties), and was its past Chairman, from 2008-2011.  Jose holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from Widener University, as well as a Master’s Degree in Engineering Project Management from Kansas University.
