Mehwish Rahman

Mehwish is a professional engineer with about 14 years of geotechnical design. She is currently a registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in the Province of Alberta, Canada. Mehwish started her geotechnical career in 2009 in tunneling based out of Washington, D.C. After moving to Canada in 2013, she expanded her experience to foundation design of urban infrastructure developments - high rise buildings, deep excavation and shoring support, retaining walls, bridge foundations, slope stabilizations, and management and mitigation of Geohazards. Currently, Mehwish is working as Field Manager, Geotechnical Engineering at Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. At CP, Mehwish’s role encompasses providing geotechnical guidance and recommendations for management and mitigation of railway Geohazards. Mehwish was named as one of the top ten 2022 Women in Railroad Engineering by Railway Track & Structures (RT&S) magazine. Currently, Mehwish chairs the Railway Ground Hazard Research Program (RGHRP). She is also a member of Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and Toastmasters International.
