Originally from England, Mike worked on the design and construction of the British Rail 25 kV ac electrification systems. Since then, he has designed and constructed light rail, heavy rail and high speed electrification systems – dc- and ac-powered - in Pakistan, Taiwan, Canada, the Philippines, Thailand & South Korea.  Working in the U.S. since 1977, he was Project Manager for the design and construction of the first of the American dc light rail systems – the Tijuana Trolley in San Diego, CA, as well as the first of the new 25 kV ac systems – the New Jersey Transit North Jersey Coast Line.  

Retiring in 2006, Mike is currently providing part-time design support to WSP (formerly Parsons Brinckerhoff) on several projects, and is the recent past Chairman of AREMA Committee 33.
