Steve Chrismer has worked in the rail industry for 40 years in both passenger and freight railroading in the areas of track engineering, vehicle-track interaction and the wheel/rail interface.   Steve was employed at the Association of American Railroads (AAR) Research and Test Department, and more recently at Amtrak until retirement.  He has a PhD in Civil Engineering from University of Massachusetts and teaches part time at the University of Delaware in the Railroad Engineering Program. Steve is past Chairman of the AREMA High Speed Rail Committee
